Craft Time!

If you happen to read my last post about the pumpkin patch being the first half of our day today then you'll understand when I say this is about the 2nd half. We got to go over to our neighbors house and continue our very fun Fall party over there. First we ate way too much food and let the kids play for a bit. The kids had such a great time as did the adults. We decided this year to order some easy crafts for the kids to do. It was so much fun. They made these cute monster pillows (although I haven't sewn on the eyes and mouths yet), they got to make some photo frames for those cute pumpkin patch pics earlier, and they got to do some bat hand prints. Daddy even jumped in with the tie pillows and helped Isabella out. Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough with the camera to capture that on film. You'll have to take my word for it. Thank you God for such great neighbors and a fun day of celebrating one of my favorite seasons!!

Spooner Farm Pumpking Patch

I couldn't help but run home and put these pics on my blog. I absolutely love the family ones in front of the big pumpkin! What a fun day with neighbors. Actually, it's only 1/2 over so far. We went with our neighbors to the pumpkin patch today. The corn maze was crazy!! Greg said that without a map you would never make it back out again. It took about an hour to get through. The carmel apple slices were yummy. The animals were fun and the "Pumpkin Huck" was a blast. Greg thoroughly enjoyed himself as did the kids. His first shot hit the bar holding the target. He has a great eye!

The Dentist

The kids had their dental check ups yesterday afternoon and I am happy to report that all three are in the clear!! It was actually Isabella's first time at the dentist. She did fantastic. She talked the hygienist's ear off. She only gagged once when they tried to do the bite wing x-rays. Too much stuff for a little mouth. But at the end she told her that this was the best day of her whole life. I guess that means she enjoyed herself. But who wouldn't with a personal t.v. to watch with headphones and the nicest dental staff ever. At the end, they get tokens for a machine that spits out a little trinket or toy too. Not to mention the new toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss!

A few minutes to relax

I got invited this weekend to a scrap bookers retreat with some of my friends from my old church. They rented a beautiful house at Pacific Beach. They have been going on weekend trips 1-2 times a year to catch up on scrapping. I currently am not a scrapper (although I have been for many years) so I brought a stocking project I am working on and some homework. I didn't know what to expect out of the weekend but I was ready and willing to have a couple of quiet days.

What a crazy fun weekend. Most of the scrapbookers are digital now. So there were lots of laptops to go around. Not everyone was scrapping though. One had a newsletter to finish, one had some books to read, and I had a stocking project (as stated before). There were times to catch up with old friends, times to build new friendships, times to eat really yummy things, times to run along the beach, times to walk the beach with friends at sunset, times of belly laughing, and times to get things done.

In it all, I got to slow down. My days are busy. They are filled with a lot of purpose and I am trying my best to stay focused every day. This weekend was like a breath of fresh air. I got to just sit. I got to just be. I got to renew and I got to review. God was present and I got to experience him in many many ways.

Thanks to my husband for allowing me time to myself and taking such great care of our kids while I was gone. I love you. And thankyou to all my girls for being there this weekend and sharing such a great time with me. See you guys in March!

The group of us from the opposite direction with the full moon behind us!

(These two pics crack me up! I swear I didn't have to go to the bathroom. They told me to bend down a bit so the people behind me weren't blocked. REALLY!!)
