We went camping over Labor Day weekend. It was our last hoorah for this year. Mikayla got to invite one friend to join us this time and she was set on Abby. So we set out knowing that the forecast called for some rain and hoped for the best. Friday was absolutely perfect all afternoon and evening. The only bad thing is that there was a burn ban so no campfire the first night.
Saturday morning we awoke to rain! A lot of rain over the next 3 hours. Then it stopped and the sun came out about 11:00. Unfortunately at 12:30 the rain came back with a vengence. We played games and jumped in puddles. It was really still a lot of fun family time. Then, all of a sudden, around 3:30 saturday afternoon the rain stopped...blue sky appeared....the weather was amazingly warm....and it stayed that way for the rest of the day! YES!!! And to top it all off the burn ban was lifted thanks to the rain so we got to have campfire and it was great.
What a fantastic trip. There were waterbugs and watersnakes. (Mommy was not so fond of the watersnake!) There were walks to find gem stones and bikes to ride. There were smores to eat and rivers to conquer. There were kids to love and memories to be made.
Fall is here!
