Unknown Departure

Edith VanLuyn
My Grandmother
Today was my grandmother's last day here on earth. She is home with her Lord and free forever. She was loved by everyone who knew her, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Death is not an easy thing to grasp. It is never easy to say goodbye and when we don't see it coming it can be even harder to accept. We are angry because control is stripped out of our hands, although it was never there to begin with. We are sad that we didn't get to say goodbye. We have joy and relief because our loved one is not in any pain or suffering anymore.

I am a picture taker! I love to capture moments in time. Today I am so thankful that I do. A picture can bring back a moment or an emotion that we haven't remembered in awhile. I had joy today looking through those snapshots of my grandmother with all of us. She loved spending time with her family, especially the great grandkids, and they loved her to pieces. We are going to miss her but we are thankful for every moment that we had with her.

We love you grandma.

Till we see you again someday........

Oh, Stephanie. I'm so sorry for your family's loss here on this earth today. I am rejoicing to know that she is with our Savior and we have eternity to look forward to... what an enormous hope and comfort that is in these times! My grandmother arrived there in April- the mix of emotions is still quite fresh for me, although her death was not unexpected. I'm sending you much love and many hugs!!!

I have been wanting to call you all day! However this is my first chance and the kids are just starting to head to bed :-( I am SO sorry to hear of your loss :-( There is so much love in your family, and so much importance on time with family, time well spent! I'll be praying for you and your family as you are grieving the loss of your grandma (mom, great grandma, etc.) and yet rejoicing that she's in no more pain and is dancing & singing for joy with our Heavenly Father! Please let us know if there's any way we can be of help as arrangements are being made (watch your kids, meals, anything). And by the way, I love all the pictures you posted, especially the carnival game one! :-D (and yay, Jenna even made it in one of those shots!) :-) Praying for you all...

Stephanie, I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother.
What beautiful memories you and your family have of her. I love the one at the fair. That is absolutely priceless. I am sure Jesus has all of the carnival games she would ever want.
Praying for your family.
