Carrying Someone's Burden

My heart is absolutely aching today for two of my friends. One's husband is leaving for a one year deployment in the Middle East today. They have two small children, 2 and a 4 month old. The other has been trying to adopt Geovany for a very long time from Guatemala and the government is continuing to stand in the way of it happening. It has begun to weigh even more heavily just recently. As both of these dear friends hurt and shed tears I continue to lift them up in my prayers. One I can hug and the other is too far so I trust that God has his arms wrapped around her today. If you get a chance today and God leads your heart, please lift these two women up in your prayers.

Thanks.

Teanaway's Mixed Bag of Treats

We went camping over Labor Day weekend. It was our last hoorah for this year. Mikayla got to invite one friend to join us this time and she was set on Abby. So we set out knowing that the forecast called for some rain and hoped for the best. Friday was absolutely perfect all afternoon and evening. The only bad thing is that there was a burn ban so no campfire the first night.

Saturday morning we awoke to rain! A lot of rain over the next 3 hours. Then it stopped and the sun came out about 11:00. Unfortunately at 12:30 the rain came back with a vengence. We played games and jumped in puddles. It was really still a lot of fun family time. Then, all of a sudden, around 3:30 saturday afternoon the rain stopped...blue sky appeared....the weather was amazingly warm....and it stayed that way for the rest of the day! YES!!! And to top it all off the burn ban was lifted thanks to the rain so we got to have campfire and it was great.

What a fantastic trip. There were waterbugs and watersnakes. (Mommy was not so fond of the watersnake!) There were walks to find gem stones and bikes to ride. There were smores to eat and rivers to conquer. There were kids to love and memories to be made.

Labor Day is for Mega Cooking!!!

Yep! When everyone else is taking the day off and resting I am hitting it hard. Lots to be done before college starts back up at the end of the month. So today, I decided to get some meatballs done. I found a new recipe and they are delicious.

15 lbs of meat and 450 meatballs later I can check that one off my list! YES!!!

Greg's Sweet Treat

Well, we got home from camping yesterday afternoon and the kids and I got to sing happy birthday to dad and make him a special treat. Greg is such an amazing man! He only gets better and better with age. It was yummy eats.
