Happy Halloween

Well, we had a fun one tonight. The kids got to eat free at Red Robin tonight. So we met up with my sister and her kids for dinner. Then it was on to grandma and grandpa's house. Mikayla prayed later that night and thanked God for her Grandpa being such a good sport and dressing up for just them. It was such a cute moment Dad. I wish you could have heard it. Grandma of course had a little candy and ice cream sandwiches. After that we went back home and hit the neighborhood trick or treating. What fun!! Mommy stayed home and passed out candy. Then Mikayla and Jordan decided to help hand out candy when they got home. Mikayla got a cute little toddler in a winnie the pooh honey pot costume. Jordan was so excited for the next ones. Then Jordan unfortunately answered the door to quite a different story.(check out the pictures below) He decided he'll stick to trick or treating. Really fun night all in all. We should have enough candy to last us till Easter! And that was only 45 minutes of trick or treating.

Another thing to master!!

I found the best cupcake book at Mikayla and Jordan's book fair last weekend. I just had to give it a try. The hardest part on this one is manipulating the candy toppings and cutting them and whatnot. What do you think of my pumpkins???

Jonathan's Here!!

Karen delivered baby #5 today!! Jonathan is here. It took him a while but when he was ready...he was ready. I believe Jimmy's words were "it took about a half push and he was out". Great job Karen. I was so thrilled to actually be at the hospital after this one was born. What a priviledge to get to be a part of the celebration today.

Fall fun!

What another amazing day today up here in the Pacific Northwest. The kids had some fun in the changing season. I even let Jordan go way up in our tree. Isn't Mikayla just precious!!

Watch D.O.G.S.

Mikayla and Jordan's school have an awesome program at their school where the dad's are really encouraged to participate and be a part of volunteering. Last night was the kickoff for the program. It's called Watch D.O.G.S. I think it stands for Dad's on Guard or something. Anyway, Greg got to take all 3 kids to the school and have pizza and pop. The climbing wall was open and the kids had a blast. The book fair was also going on so the kids got to pick out some new books with dad. It was a fantastic evening. They all came home so excited they could hardly talk slow enough for me to understand what they were saying. I am so thankful for Greg's desire to be the "Best Dad Ever". That's what Mikayla kept calling him last night as I put her to bed. They were still talking about it when they woke up today and all the way to school. Thanks Greg. I love you and so do they.

What a mess! But, FUN!

We do a lot of cookie decorating throughout the holidays and last night was our pumpkins. We started off the evening by flour exploding when it hit the floor. About 2 1/2 pounds of it. I can't even begin to show you how it was on everything because the doors and wire racking are white. But it literally coated and stuck to EVERYTHING! That was fun!! Especially when Greg did most of the clean up while I baked the cookies. What a guy. We had a lot of fun and everyone's cookies turned out awesome.

Pumkin Patch 2008

Well, it's no secret that we love going to the Pumpkin Patch this time of year. What a fantastic time with the kids. We got to do the corn maze, take pictures, do our yearly measures (how tall this fall), see the animals up close, pet the big cow and her babies, feed the chickens, have the horse blow boogers at Jordan (that was really funny, I'm sad I didn't have my camera videoing at that moment), ride in the wheelbarrel, Isabella fall out of the wheelbarrel along with a really big pumpkin (also very funny), got some great corn stalks for the front door, played on the giant saw dust hill, take more pictures, and buy a giant pumpkin for the front door. It was so much fun. We can't wait to go do it all again with our crew next weekend!

Dinner w/Cousins

We had the Earnhardt cousins over for dinner tonight. We had ballet dancing, Hullabaloo(that was LOUD but fun), good food, awesome ice cream sundaes for dessert, adult game time, movie time, talking and hanging out time, Uncle Matt play time (which is always so way cool and just a little life threatening) and more. It was so much fun. My favorite moment of the evening was getting some play time with my very sensitive neices. Juliana is really coming into her own. She and I got to talk and interact tonight really well. I even snuck in just a little tickling. Jenna actually sat up and played with me tonight. I even got to feed her a bottle before she went down. She eventually slept well and was not at all happy to be woke up to go home. What a blessing to be close to family.

Soccer Season begins

Well, today was Jordan's first soccer game of the season. He had a blast and looked so cute. He made the first goal of the game and we are so proud of him.

Fun with the kids

What a fun afternoon. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant about the kids having two days off so soon after school started. I thought they would be bored. But no way! Mikayla got invited over to a friend's house after a morning appointment with the podiatrist, Jordan pulled out his Erector set and created a bow and arrow (very impressive), and Isabella and I got to build with blocks and create all kinds of buildings and walls. We even fit in making chocolate chip cookies. All in all, I really enjoyed a day off with my kids today. Hopefully tomorrow will bring even more fun. Maybe even the Pumpkin Patch!!

Surprise Picnic

Mikayla was chosen as the Superstar of the week in her 3rd grade class this week. She asked me if I would come for lunch one day to eat with her. I said I would but that it would be a surprise what we did or ate. So, today was the day. I went to the grocery store this morning and bought all her favorite lunch foods. Then we packed up a picnic basket and our surprise guests and left. She saw me arrive and came out in the hallway to get me to come in when she saw her guests. Grandma and Aunt Chrissy were able to come as well as Isabella. What a picnic feast we had. She was so excited to see everyone and share with her class. I video taped the sharing time (which of course was about her LPS collection). What I thought would be a couple of minutes ended up being about 11 minutes. That girl can talk!! She gets it from her dad I'm sure. But it was fun. Chrissy kept saying how precise she was and how formal her speech was. I'm so proud of her.
