I am so blessed to be a mom. God so beautifully chose my three children. My mother's day kind of started yesterday at a brunch. I was greeted with a bouquet of flowers and wonderful warm smiles. Unfortunately later that afternoon our heating element in our oven exploded. Still working the oven thing out! But, this morning I was greated by excited children that could not wait to share their treasures they had made for me.
Mikayla, my oldest, presented me with a beautiful poem and coupons for different things that I will get to collect on, including 1,000,000 kisses and hugs! YES! Although she made sure to point out that the coupon expires in 10 years. And a rose she made herself out of hershey kisses.
Jordan, my next child, was too excited so he had given me 1/2 of his gifts yesterday. Some beautiful writings and poems. Then today he could barely contain himself long enough for me to unwrap his gift. It's a couple of blocks with him sitting and reading "Mommy Mine" on top of it. I love it! That was one of our favorite books when he first started reading.
Then there is Isabella, my youngest, whose art work and ability to write her own (very long) name at 4 brings smiles to my face. She was so proud to give me something. And promptly told everyone her gift was the best. I reminded her that the gifts are nice but it's the children I love.
After that, the kids and I got crazy with pictures. We had so much fun being crazy. Then it was daddy's turn to surprise mommy.
Greg is my wonderful husband whom I adore. He came into the bathroom as I was finishing up my hair and handed me a yellow piece of paper with a clue on it. Then it was on to the next clue. The kids were giddy with delight every time I found a new clue. My treasure hunt ended with my new beautiful red Kitchenaid pot set and a beautiful corsage to wear today. I love them.
It was a mother's day to remember.
